Took a dip in the hot tub, froze when we got out, and warmed up near the wood stove. Our cabin was so cozy!
Day 3:
Hiked along the beautiful Lake Louise. Its turquoise waters are created from rock flour, rocks that are ground to a fine powder from the nearby glacier's weight when it moves.

In the afternoon we drove further north to experience the Columbia Icefield - the largest ice formation south of the Arctic Circle. Just under 23 feet of snow falls there annually. We took a vehicle to the Athabasca glacier, one of the nine glaciers to make up the icefield. Needless to say, walking on top of the glacier was one of the most incredible experiences! Oh yeah, and it was approximately 5 degrees Fahrenheit with the wind chill.
