Christmas Vacation 2010

The hustle and bustle of the holiday season is over, and I have plenty of pictures and videos to post.
(A little late...I forgot to post the draft over a month ago!!!)
Christmas Day with the Crooks Family
We met up at Nick's Mom's house in Grand Haven on December 25th. Our sister-in-law Renee came with her two sons, Austin (2 1/2 yrs.) and Andrew (5 mos.), adding to the fun. Orrin, Nick's brother, was absent this Christmas due to his deployment in the Navy. We watched Austin play around with his new toys, opened presents, and enjoyed a huge spread of food.

Game Night with the Haywards
Christmas is one of the few times a year when everyone in the Hayward family is together. So we all got together to play cards and board games on night. First we played Pit, an old game from my dad's childhood where players must get all nine cards in their hand to be one product - oats, corn, barley, wheat, flax, rye, and hay. Everyone is dealt nine cards, and everyone plays at once by blindly trading cards with other players. The cards you trade must all be the same product, and you call out the number of cards you want to trade. Once you have all nine you must call out "Corner on (name of product)!"

We recorded a session, but unfortunately the video refuses to upload!!!

Next, we split into two teams and played Guesstures.  Pictured here is Michelle...I have no idea what she was trying to act out! :)

Check out Dad's lightning-fast guesstures session...
